Good day folks,
I will start by saying I am not an audiophile and these are the first B&O products I have owned. I have two BeoLab 8000 mk2 models that I would like to use with my Samsung QE 65 TV. The TV has optical and HDMI arc output for sound. I chose to go the route of optical to analog and use RCA cables for each speaker. To achieve this I have a spdif cable from the TV to an optical to analog converter. I then attached each speaker to to analog outputs of the converter. One to the left and one to the right output. I put both speakers in LINE setting but only one ever "turns on" (light goes green). Both speakers work as both have separately turned on. Furthermore I could not control the sound volume with the TV remote anymore, which I had assumed I would be able to do as it is still the TV outputting the sound.
Does anyone have suggestions for how I can achieve using these Beolab 8000 speakers for my TV? I am not attached to using the solution I describe above.
Further to that, is it even appropriate to use these speakers for a TV or would I be better served getting a wifi module like shown here and using them for music? I ask this as the sound quality coming out of the single speaker that was working was not as amazing as i would have assumed it to be. This was likely heavily effected by how ridiculously loud it was though.
Many thanks for you help!

The best way is to use a ‘HDMI/ARC Converter’.
And the best one, that I know of is this:
https://shop.oneremote.dk/shop/69128-hdmi-arc-to-powerlink-converter/121005-hdmi-arc-to-powerlink/
because it has a PowerLink output (in case of the BL8000 you will have to use a PL-splitter as well and 2 PL cables).
This works well and is easy to set up - you then can control the volume with your tv remote.
It surely is worth it!
P.S. I do not know the solution that you have linked to - however it does not seem to have an option (HDMI/ARC for connecting) a tv.

Hi MM,
Thanks for the guidance, I will use that option then!
Is there a solution that would allow me to use the speakers for both my TV and wirelessly to a phone for when I want to play music through them (Not simultaneously of course)? I know the is the BeoConnect Core but that comes with a rather large price tag!
Many thanks,
Rob
